At the start of term, we followed instructions to make paper boats as part of our story writing work, based on ‘Float’ by Daniel Miyares. We have enjoyed writing our stories and learning lots of new writing skills as well as using dictionaries and thesauruses to help improve our vocabulary. In Maths we have been doing a lot of work on place value which will be very useful to support our learning of addition and subtraction.

In Science we have found out about animals and their habitats. Last week, we made our own shoebox habitats which was great fun. We have been studying the world around us in Topic lessons where we used atlases to find places and landmarks around the world. It has helped us to tell the difference between human and physical features. We have even written letters to recommend the best places to visit on Planet Earth.

On Mondays, we have been lucky enough to have a Saints rugby coach helping us to develop our rugby skills. In fact, we have been doing a lot of physical activity and often start the day with exercises and routines to raise our heart rates and make us ready for the day ahead. As well as this we have been doing gymnastics and tennis in our PE lessons.

We all definitely deserve a rest this half-term!
