Over the last week and a half, the Year Fives have been looking at the works of Charles Dickens and William Shakespeare. Macbeth and Oliver Twist were the main focus of their learning and we had a lot of fun researching the plays, watching the films, debating the character’s motives and acting out some famous scenes.

In the afternoons, we looked at African art and created our own pieces based on animal prints and tribal patterns. The finished products looked fantastic!

We have also continued to work on making our school library a great place to be by painting famous book characters to go on the walls and creating lettering to welcome everyone to the library. This is a working progress and we hope it will be finished by the end of the term ready for September!

We hope you are all having fun learning at home!
