When is a Leaf not a Leaf?

When is a Leaf Not a Leaf?

In Science last week we had a great time learning about insects. We found out that their bodies are made of three parts. The head, the thorax and the abdomen. We discovered that their six legs are attached to the thorax and that not all insects can fly.

Once we had drawn our amazing diagrams of an insect, we went to see what Mrs Wilson had in her glass cage. At first all we could see was a twig with leaves on, but then, using our magnifying glasses we noticed that some of the leaves seemed to moving! To our surprise, some if the leaves were actually insects! They were amazing! They are just babies at the moment, but once they grow bigger, they will be as big as our hands. We can’t wait to see how much they have grown next time they come into school!
