You may remember that early on in Year 1 we had some leaf insects in school. Well, they have visited again and they are really quite big now. Our resident expert, Mrs Wilson says they are now fully grown. Sadly, we only have two left but they are very beautiful and fascinating to look at and study.
Mrs Wilson assures us that they are both females, which is good because, although they have wings, they cannot fly. This means that they are not likely to be flying around our classrooms!
The leaf insects are particularly partial to bramble leaves and spend a lot of their time munching away on them and using their excellent camouflage to play hide and seek with the children.
